Methodist Heart Hospital, a campus of Methodist Hospital, was established in 2001 as a hospital within a hospital. We feel strongly that in order to maintain the highest level of care in a hospital dedicated to heart services, it should have the full complement of services available through a large full-service hospital like Methodist Hospital. We know that heart patients often need additional medical services including diabetes care, radiology imaging, pharmacy and more. The hospital has earned a designation as a Chest Pain Center and far exceeds the national standards for time from “door to balloon.” If you’re experiencing a heart attack, our team is ready to take quick action to save your life.

“Door-to-balloon” time is measured from the time you enter the door of the emergency department to the time that doctors determine you need a cardiac cath procedure and then actually have balloon catheter inserted to open clogged arteries that are causing your heart attack. Time is muscle. Quick action can save your life and reduce the side effects and severity of your heart attack.

We have special equipment in our emergency department that allows physicians to monitor your heart if you are in an ambulance and on your way to Methodist Heart Hospital. This alerts our team that you are on the way and they are ready to provide you with the medical attention you need as soon as you arrive.
