Burn care
Burn care focuses on the treatment and minimization of injuries caused by heat, chemicals, friction, electricity or radiation. Care can also include specialized reconstructive services.
Compassionate care close to home
Methodist Hospital Burn and Reconstructive Center offers care for all types of pediatric burn patients. Our multidisciplinary care teams including trauma, burn, physical therapy, occupational therapy, child life, social work, and nutrition work together to ensure the best outcome for each patient.
The Methodist Hospital Burn and Reconstructive Center collaborates with the widely respected Burn and Reconstructive Centers of America, which represents the largest burn network in the world. As a burn center patient, your child is able to receive comprehensive treatment, avoiding transfers of care outside of San Antonio.
Leading-edge burn care facilities
Methodist Hospital Burn and Reconstructive Center includes specially equipped emergency burn rooms with special climate controls to regulate temperature and humidity for burn patients who often have difficulty maintaining body temperature.
We provide all follow-up care to burn patients at the outpatient burn clinic, which is conveniently located on the Methodist Children's Hospital campus. The clinic is equipped for short and long-term rehabilitation, providing the best possible outcomes for patients.
