Babies' first letters to Santa get a little help from nurses
San Antonio, TX — This holiday season, nurses at Methodist Hospital Westover Hills are spreading Christmas cheer by helping newborns and NICU babies write their very first letters to Santa.
From bedtime storybooks to lullabies from Santa’s elves, and even extra hugs from mom and dad, these babies have filled their wish lists and brought holiday magic to the entire maternity unit. For parents with babies in the NICU, this new tradition has been especially meaningful, offering comfort during what can be an anxious time.
“Having a baby in the NICU can feel overwhelming, but families don’t have to face it alone.” said Lucy Koneri, director of women’s services at Methodist Hospital Westover Hills. “Our goal is to help bring peace of mind to parents and reassure them that their babies are receiving the very best care from a team they can trust. Creating joyful moments, like writing letters to Santa, helps families find comfort and happiness during a challenging time.”
Located at the intersection of Highway 151 and Loop 1604, the hospital offers spacious labor and delivery suites, private NICU rooms, and a compassionate team of physicians, nurses, and support staff dedicated to providing exceptional care.
