Fredericksburg, Texas — Methodist Hospital Hill Country has proudly announced two major achievements that reflect its ongoing commitment to excellence in patient care and support for its clinical teams. The hospital has earned the prestigious Pathway to Excellence® designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and has been designated a Level II Maternal Care facility by the State of Texas.
The Pathway to Excellence® designation is a global credential that highlights the hospital’s commitment to creating a healthy work environment where nurses feel empowered and valued. Methodist Hospital Hill Country’s nurses are an integral part of the healthcare team, with a voice in policy and practice. Pathway nurses are engaged, resulting in higher job satisfaction, reduced turnover, improved safety, and better patient outcomes. As a Pathway organization, the hospital leads the effort to enhance quality of care, patient and nursing safety, and the future of healthcare delivery.
“This recognition is truly a celebration of our nurses and the remarkable work they do every single day,” said Maureen Polivka, Chief Nursing Officer. “Each day, they live out our mission through high-quality, compassionate care and unwavering support for one another.”
The hospital has also earned designation as a Level II Maternal Care facility, reflecting enhanced capabilities to care for women with low to moderate risk pregnancies and manage more complex obstetric needs close to home. The hospital demonstrated compliance with rigorous standards for staffing, training, emergency readiness, and quality oversight. As a Level II facility, Methodist Hospital Hill Country ensures access to obstetric providers with operative training 24/7, anesthesia personnel with obstetric expertise, comprehensive imaging and laboratory services, emergency cesarean capability, and robust protocols for high‑risk maternal conditions. “Achieving Level II maternal designation reflects our unwavering commitment to quality care and the high standards we hold ourselves to in serving our community,” said Polivka.
“These dual achievements demonstrate the extraordinary skill, dedication, and compassion of our care teams,” said Clint Kotal, Chief Executive Officer. “They reinforce our ongoing commitment to expanding access to exceptional care and strengthening services for families throughout the Hill Country.”
