Methodist Hospital Northeast welcomes new chief medical officer

Methodist Hospital Northeast has named Dr. Geetha Gangu as chief medical officer. She brings over 20 years of clinical and leadership experience, previously leading Oregon's largest hospitalist group. Trained at Osmania and Yale, she is pursuing an MBA and began her new role this month in December 2025.

San Antonio, Texas — Methodist Hospital Northeast is pleased to announce the appointment of Geetha Gangu, MD, CPE as their new Chief Medical Officer.

Dr. Gangu brings extensive clinical and leadership experience. Most recently, she served as Chief of the Hospitalist Division at PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center in Springfield, Oregon, a 385-bed Level II trauma center. In that role, she led Oregon’s largest hospitalist group, driving initiatives that improved quality, safety, and operational efficiency while reducing costs. Her leadership has consistently enhanced patient outcomes and hospital performance.

Dr. Gangu earned her medical degree from Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India, and completed her internal medicine training at Yale New Haven Health. She has over two decades of experience as an academic hospitalist in Connecticut healthcare systems, including Yale Healthcare, and more than five years in acute care hospital leadership. She is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Dr. Gangu assumed her new role this month.
