Sean Simpson, M.S., M.D. is a general surgeon who is certified in laparoscopic surgery by the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons. In addition to laparoscopic surgery, Dr. Simpson also specializes in robotic-assisted minimally invasive surgery using the da Vinci system. A native of Austin, Dr. Simpson grew up visiting and exploring the hill country with his family.

My goal is to treat my patients like they are family. Given the nature of my job, I tend to meet people at a very scary time or low point in their life. An important part of my job is sitting down with patients and their families to explain what is going on, what we can do to address the issue, and how it will affect them and their lives. As a surgeon my care usually involves surgery, however surgery is not always the first or best course of action for a given patient. It is important to me that we work together to figure out what is best for you.
