Steven M. Pisano, MD

Native Texan, born in Waco and raised in San Antonio, Dr. Steven Pisano attended John Marshall High School here in San Antonio. He is a graduate of University of Texas at Austin where he was enrolled in the Plan II Honors College; he received a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry.

Dr. Steven Pisano received his M.D. in 1985 from the University of Texas Health Science Center-Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He then completed an Internship at University of Texas Health Science Center

Dr Pisano is a board certified plastic surgeon, breast reconstruction surgeon and microsurgeon, with PRMA Plastic Surgery in San Antonio, TX. He specializes in state-of-the-art breast reconstruction with a particular focus on "natural" reconstruction using the patient's own tissue (perforator flap techniques), nipple-sparing mastectomy, techniques to maximize cosmetic outcomes after breast reconstruction, and restoring sensation after mastectomy. Dr Pisano is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, is an active member of several professional societies including the American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery (ASRM), and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). Dr Pisano has dedicated his professional life to advocating for breast cancer patients. He strongly believes that shared decision-making between the physician and patient is crucial in achieving the best outcomes and has built his practice on this philosophy.
