Dr Tarak Patel is the first in his family to become a doctor. His journey started when he was attending the University of Texas at Austin where he received a degree in Biology. While in Austin, he participated in volunteer organizations many of which focused on children. He went on to attend medical school at Texas Tech University School of Medicine in Lubbock for his first two years and completed his clinical years in El Paso.
