Celebrating radiology excellence at Methodist Hospital Texsan
Imaging Technologist Week is held annually in November and gives us the opportunity to recognize the remarkable work happening every day in our imaging departments at Methodist Hospital Texsan.
From advanced cardiac imaging to specialized ultrasound expertise, our teams continue to distinguish themselves through skill, preparation, and consistent excellence.
CT team recognized for outstanding quality
Texsan’s CT team earned the CT Quality Award for Quarter 4 of 2024, placing in the top 18% of more than 1,200 sites nationwide. With a 92% pass rate on 50 FFR-CT studies, the team demonstrated high-quality image acquisition and post-processing accuracy.
This achievement reflects the collective performance of approximately 14 technologists, all working together to maintain high standards across the department. At the time the award was announced in February, Texsan was only the second hospital in the division to receive this distinction, following Methodist Stone Oak.
Ultrasound Team: 100% RVT-Certified
Texsan’s Ultrasound team has also reached a milestone that sets our campus apart. Every ultrasound technologist holds the Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) credential, including recent graduates who earned the certification early in their careers.
The RVT credential is one of the most challenging and advanced in the field, and achieving full departmental certification is uncommon. With a team of six technologists, Texsan is able to ensure consistent coverage for vascular studies without delay or limitation based on technologist availability.
Expanding cardiac imaging: Cardiac MRI ribbon cutting
This year also marked the ribbon-cutting for our cardiac MRI program, an important addition to Texsan’s imaging capabilities. The radiology team identified cardiac MRI as a major advancement for the campus and a key milestone in expanding cardiac imaging services for our patients and community.
