Methodist Hospital Hill Country announces emergency department expansion

The $2.9 million expansion will increase the Emergency Department capacity from eight beds to twelve, covering a total of 4,237 square feet.

Methodist Hospital | Hill Country has announced a transformative expansion of its Emergency Department (ED), aimed at significantly enhancing the hospital’s capacity to meet the growing healthcare needs of the community. The expansion will increase the ED's capacity from eight beds to twelve, covering a total of 4,237 square feet. The $2.9 million expansion will also include a larger waiting area to accommodate higher patient volumes, a dedicated triage room for faster and more efficient patient assessments, and an upgraded exterior facade.

"As our community continues to grow, we have seen an increased demand for emergency care,” shared Clint Kotal, CEO of Methodist Hospital | Hill Country. “This expansion will not only enhance patient care but also makes an investment in the future health and well-being of our community.”

Methodist Hospital | Hill Country is committed to growing alongside the community. Most recently, the hospital expanded its cardiovascular service line and enhanced the patient and visitor experience with the opening of Caliche Coffee within the hospital. The hospital remains dedicated to providing high-quality, exceptional care to each and every patient. This commitment has been exemplified through recent awards, such as being named among a 2025 Top 100 Rural & Community Hospital by The Chartis Center for Rural Health. Leapfrog has also recognized the hospital with an “A” Hospital Safety Grade for the 24th consecutive year. Additionally, U.S. News & World Report designated the hospital as a maternity care access hospital and recognized it for high performance in knee replacement in 2024.
