San Antonio, Texas When the hearts of champions come together, it makes for a great day! Ropin’ Dreams, an organization dedicated to bringing joy to children and families facing challenges, made a significant impact this week by hosting rodeo contestants and champions at Methodist Children's Hospital.

“Visits like this help impact the days our patients and their families have at the hospital,” said Brielle Swerdlin, manager of the Child Life team at Methodist Children’s Hospital. “Being at the hospital is not always fun and having a special visitor can definitely brighten up the day. It shows our patients and their families that others in our community are thinking about them and are hoping that they have a little something to smile about.”

The rodeo contestants visited multiple units within the hospital, sharing stories, photos, and smiles with the young patients. The interactions provided a much-needed break from the routine of hospital life.

“Afterwards, the contestants are in awe of these kids and their attitudes and how much fight they all have,” said Dub & Cindy McClister, Founders of Ropin’ Dreams. “The impact of our visits is really two-fold; the children get to experience the contestants and how friendly and fun-loving they can be, and the visits put context into what is really important in life.”

Ropin’ Dreams continues to fulfill its mission of spreading joy and hope, reminding everyone that even in challenging times, a smile can make all the difference.
